Mid-century embodies this piece of nostalgia, part of the Bel-Aire Motel signage in Austin, TX. Weathered in the extreme summer heat, rust and pitting become an interesting surface for which the neon still works it's magic in attracting weary travelers. I found the jumble of glass neon tubes form an interesting shadow shape across the signage. It speaks of the aging pop culture and passing of time.
