The Bel Air motel in Austin Texas still uses its neon sign to advertise its existence. Palm trees and cactus grow around it and in this scene a palm frond partially hides the vacancy neon. Reflections in the strong red color of the sign gets distorted and adds another layer of interest that seems very abstract.
