The Sandman motel sign in St. Petersburg, Florida is one of those signs you hope never goes away. This quirky design of an imp sporting a nightcap, pointed ears, pointed shoes, bag and pail is so fun that I've been back several times to get more reference images. Everything about this sign is classic mid-century and has weathered numerous tropical storms. I've tried to capture it here in watercolor.
