The Sandman motel sign in St. Petersburg, Florida is one of those signs you hope never goes away. This quirky design of an imp sporting nightcap, pointed ears and shoes, bag and pail is so fun that I've been back several times to get more reference images. Everything about this sign is classic mid-century and has weathered numerous tropical storm. I've tried to capture it here in watercolor.
