I was at a show opening of the Texas Watercolor Society and starting on my way home from San Antonio when I drove past this amazing storefront. I had to turn around and get pictures of it. Even though it's not it full sunlight with shadows as I normally like to paint urban landscape, there were plenty of interesting textures and surfaces, plus parts that were multicolored from the weathering it endured in the Texas heat. The most difficult part of the piece was painting the ceiling tiles and getting the surface textures and contrast right.
