The Banyan Tree Motel was so fun to paint. It has loads of rust, wear and tear, and faded variations of color. It screams mid-century Florida tourist! Visiting the actual motel in Saint Petersburg, FL, helped me to realize what inspired the motel name and sign itself. Behind the motel is a park with a banyan tree so vast that it is probably as large as the motel building!
