Description/Story: I had ideas for the paintings I wanted to do in the future, but given a shortage of time I opted for a sketch instead until I could make the time to do a larger watercolor of it. I loved this subject, a visit to Andy's is like going back in time. Great food at a low price, but the signage brings you back to the mid-century and a simpler time.
BTW, doing this sketch gave me the momentum when I did finally paint this subject. That painting became one of my more successful and it sold at its final show opening in Houston, 2022. I do look back to my sketches like this one to capture a feeling and memories I had. It's like the right doorway.
