Description/Story: I may look like I take these beautiful reference images for my paintings, but it's really not the case. I wish I were a better photographer, but my images merely remind me of what I was looking for. So, as abstract as a blurry background is on my reference photo, I push it way past that into abstraction to make the flower cluster subject pop forward. I just might do more of this subject. These clusters are actually no bigger than two fingers wide or so, but I want to make them bigger than life, literally. Take a look at the progress video below to see how this was painted.
