This little painting celebrates the fun of mid-century design style. It is now the third painting I've done of the Bel Air motel signage in Austin, Texas. I did a significant amount of under-painting on this one and tried to keep it a little more painterly in the sky to give it some surface texture. The image has also been painted around the sides of the cradled board so it can hang as is or be placed into a float frame where you can still see the sides.
