This painting is another demonstration piece for a watercolor workshop. Somehow, watercolor painters are enthused to learn more about how to achieve the textures and details I do in my signage paintings. So, this is from the Sea Chest Motel signage I found in Fort Myers, FL on First St. just before the Edison bridge. It’s like those typical 1950s motel and the hand painted surfaces of the sign keeps baking in the hot Florida sun. Just focusing on one letter, I could concentrate on the details, highlights, and shadows.
