With repetition comes a rhythm and harmony as if music is being played. I took a more abstract approach to this painting by cropping in close and focusing on compositional elements that create a bit of motion and unity. Mid-century neon signage design was so clever in lighting up specific areas to accentuate the color and shapes.
The reference is from the Ranch Motel design sign in San Antonio, TX. The place was boarded up, perhaps for restoration, but the sign was in beautiful shape.
