This painting is a tiny slice of joy, a throwback to the 1980s revival of neon signage and brings out the popularity that came about with celestial symbols: stars, moon, planets, and sun among others.
Strong shadows can be difficult to get right when they stretch across yellow. but there are a number of colors that effect it. From cool to warm, I used violet and orange to create the shadows merging from one color into another which takes reflections of color into account.
