Austin, Texas is into neon for sure. I found a wealth of signage, old and new as I scouted them out during a signage hunting visit a few years ago. This one is the Mesquite BBQ which has cool typography and a bit of weathering from the Texas heat.
I can't just do a straight on shot all the time. As I look at the bent glass it creates a jumble of more abstract shapes and interesting patterns in the shadows. I loved the green with the deep blue sky beyond it, what a fabulous sign to tell Texas tall tales. I'll probably revisit this subject again in the future.
Oh, and they have great BBQ in the restaurant too!
