Description/Story: This painting is a bit unusual in that the handmade Twin Rocker paper handled differently than the Arches papers that I normally use. It has a beautiful deckle edge, but it was lightweight and I did not want to stretch it. It also pulled in a textural look that you can see inthe light and dark splotches of the green archway and facade. This effect, while out of my control, lent itself to more texture which I though enhanced the subject.
The doorway was one of a multitude of graffiti filled entrances we saw as we walked through Manhattan. This one intrigued me so I stopped for some references.
With the Deckle edge I recommend float matting the painting to show it off within a shadowbox frame or frame plus spacers so the painting doesn't touch the glazing.
