The Vive Les Arts Theatre in Killeen, Texas, is hosting Lisa Tennant's Botanical Artworks "Natural Patterns". The works, 12 in all, reside in the main lobby of the theatre also known as The Meadows Gallery and are shown simultaneously with their annual fundraiser to auction Christmas Trees and all the trimmings. The Exhibition also coincides with their production A Christmas Carol two weekends November 27 - December 6, 2020 and production of The Nutcracker Ballet by the Texas Metropolitan Ballet weekend December 10 - 13, 2020.
Works included in the exhibition are numerous tropical works in Acrylic on Canvas and Watercolor, plus digital drawing print.
"I'm inspired by nature, the curves, color, and texture of natural forms. A simple bloom or cluster of leaves revealing the natural design and delicate shapes are what attract me to paint my botanical forms. I apply subtle color shading to portray what is actually an intricate series of veins, curves, and shadows on otherwise flat areas of color. I feel that my subjects such as these, although simple in concept, are a call to our senses. Although they are realistic, there is also in a sense abstract and graphic application in the designs."

To view the exhibition, the theatre lobby is open Tuesday through Friday, noon-6pm, also prior to and during scheduled productions. The work will be exhibited throughout December 2020.
